Cheesy title I know...but hey, it got you checking out the blog right??  So we returned from our brief trip to New Mexico and had a good time despite freezing snowy weather our last day and a half there, and despite Dan's insistence on watching the Super Bowl.  The blog title comes from the "Newsies" song that I couldn't get out of my head anytime we said "Santa Fe" though I couldn't think of the words beyond that part.  Click the link below if you'd like to hear the song I'm referring to!  It's a good one!

We flew into Albuquerque Friday night and spent all Saturday exploring the area.  In the morning we ventured into Old Town to explore the shops, the old church, and ventured into the Rattlesnake Museum.  Creepy!  We also spent some time at the Biological Park to see the Aquarium and Botanical Gardens.  (Although the only things blooming were in the greenhouses...)  But it was a fun place to walk around, particularly the "Giant World" they had for kids, hence me sitting on a mushroom!

We also took a tram ride up the Sandia Mountains.  It was freeeeezing at the top, but fun to see snow!  All the snow is on the back side of the mountain where skiers were abundant.  Little did we know that much more snow lie ahead of us in Santa Fe!

On Sunday morning we drove to Santa Fe by way of the Turquoise Trail.  It started snowing along the way so we couldn't take any detours to see things and just headed into the city.  We first stopped in the town plaza where there are galleries and shops galore, in addition to some pretty cool churches.  (For details on the staircase photo - click here.)  We wandered a bit in the historic hotel called La Fonda and drove to The Oldest Neighborhood in America.

Sounds like you had a great trip! Don't worry, just because you have kids doesn't mean you can't travel. Rachel went out of town with the boys once a month last year. It was crazy, but she got to see a lot of family and get out of Ohio for a little bit. I got to go a few times, too. Looks like you guys had a great trip!
